Duties of the commission

Duties

This ad hoc bi-partisan commission is tasked with developing a report that identifies science-based emissions reduction goal for the state of New Hampshire to achieve by 2050. 


Final report shall include: 


  • Interim goals for emission reductions in 2030 and 2040, necessary to meet the 2050 goal. 
  • The processes and timelines for developing implementation plans to achieve the science-based emission reduction levels. 
  • Identification of New Hampshire state agencies responsible, (including a lead agency), for developing, implementing and reporting on the emission reduction levels identified, as well as public health outcomes. 

Timeframe

Emission Commission meetings will be monthly starting in August through December of 2020. 


All meetings will be open for to the public either via zoom video call or regular conference call number. 


Phone number and zoom link for each meeting will be posted on the homepage of this website at noon the day of each commission meeting.

Staffing

As legislative staff will not be accessible to this ad hoc commission, the seven groups (listed at the bottom of this page as organizational partners) who are serving as the logistical backbone for the commission will be tasked with running the zoom meetings, identifying presenters for each meeting, compiling public comment and research for commission members, maintaining this website, publicizing meetings via social media & other mediums including print, among various other tasks.
